Welcome to the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Greetings!
We started our journey in the year of 1958. Over the last six decades, we have grown our expertise and competence in the core Mechanical Engineering curriculum. Mechanical engineering has a long tradition of excellence in education with an effective hands-on mindson approach to learning. Our department is the oldest, broadest and most diverse of
engineering disciplines, encompassing a variety of engineering fields and a wide range of technologies and products which affect numerous aspects of human life and society. Mechanical engineers study, innovate, design, and develop a variety of products extending from robots to automated cars, jet engines to satellites, medical instruments to artificial organs, biomedical products to disease mitigating mechanisms, manufacturing tools
to modern materials, and smart transportation systems to advanced utility networks, among numerous others.
Mechanical engineering is a challenging, rewarding, and highly respected profession. We support this discipline through a commitment to excellence in teaching, research, scholarship, and service missions. Our faculty are highly accomplished and many of them are renowned in their specific fields of specialty. Our comprehensive state-of-the-art teaching and laboratories provide unprecedented opportunities for students to learn and practices in mechanical engineering. The department has strong interaction with all nearby Industries and Institutes which provides additional enriched learning.
We greatly value diversity within the department, society and strive to promote, enhance, and create a totally inclusive and caring environment for all of our constituents. Although we are diversifying our approaches in response to the recent pandemic, our mission and goals have not changed.
